Faery Garden Update

The Faery garden wheel of constructing continues to turn.. Summer 2006 was the start date.. and every summer since.. Two people with a imagination and little funds.. We opted for the long term as it was only the two of us doing it all.. With help from my Nickie-RIP and my two young pups Sunny and Kayla.. Well. the last pattern has been laid for the mica stones. We both like this pattern and it will stay. Just the setting is left to do( the real job) stones weigh approx. 30 pounds each.. The water feature /the small pond has been sculpted out by Scotch and reinforced .. The plan is to mortar in a aggregate look with matching pink quartz to match the large stones on either side of the center stone.. This way we can have it dry or with the water. He has created a pump system that will swirl the water around the pond in a circular manner.. This will all go under construction next spring.. That will be the final touches.. All that's left it to light it up for the night!!

Meet Sir Byrum Thimbleberry

What a grand morning it was after three nights of bon fires and roasty marshmallows. I awoke to another beautiful morning...

It was 5: 30 am. I went out with my pups, and took a short stroll around RavensWood. As I entered the fairy garden I heard the sound of water... To my surprise I discovered a new resident that dwells here in the fairy garden…
A most handsome gnome named "Byrum Thimbleberry". I spoke with him only briefly as his work is most important to him.

He hails from “Rootunder”, a small community of gnomes here on the outskirts of RavensWood. It was his time to go out into the world and make his magic... He chose my fairy garden as his home... Here is a snap shot I got of him as I left him to his work..

Shakespearean Garden

The timeless appeal of Shakespearean literature draws upon nature's imagery that eloquently brings to life concepts such as beauty, love, and faithfulness. Plants create many different moods, linking scents to memories, colors to emotions, and various textures to any number of sensations. I think of this often when I write. Shakespeare has always inspired me. So with my botanical background I searched out these flowers and plants that could be the flowers of his writings. I plan --- over the next three years to develop a Shakespeare inspired flower bed.. I reasearched some what I have found are here and their images to see.

The color and texture really shows .. I so wish we could all smell their scents!!!

Green House Project Update

Much Merry to all!!

Here are a couple photos I took today of the progress of the greenhouse. Floor and foundation are in, frame constructed. Just over head ceiling vents, and the door to install then the green house panels. I used all the material I had hanging around the house for the floor thus the difference in colors in the pumas block.. Never the less I will be painting a picture on the floor so it really does not matter anyway. The more color the better!
Nice day today, a little chilly but nice. We should have most of this done by Sunday!~~
The stone wall in front well that will take a little more time although hubby tells me not really much more to do..?? Famous last words!!

Fairy Seeds

Hi to all,

Well today on one of my many adventures to my local nursey. I saw this small display of seeds on my way to the check out counter.. I was so surprised to see this! The display held about 8 diferent types?-- of flower seeds packages in this special packaging from Burpee Seed Company.
I read on the back this product is in coralation with the estate of; Cicely Mary Barker. How cool is this??

On the back there is a tear off , on this one ---> the Forget Me Not's<--- :-) there is "The song of the Forget Me Not Fairy". I post it below. This is such a neat idea I had to share with you all!! Also here is a link that was on the back of the package to;

The Song of the Forget Me Not Fairy
Where do fairy babies lie
Til! they're old enough to fly? Here's a likely place, I think,
'Mid these flowers, blue and pink, (Pink for girls and blue for boys:
Pretty things for babies' toys!) Let us peep now, gently. Why,
Fairy baby, here you lie!
Kicking there, with no one by,
Baby dear, how good you lie! Alt alone, but, you're not—
You could never be—forgot! O how glad I am I've found you,
With Forget-me-nots around you, Blue, the colour of the sky!
Fairy baby, Hushaby!

Fairy Garden Update

Hi to all, Well the fairy garden is moving along now. Scotch -on -the -Rocks feels the rest of the ground is stable now from the work done last summer. He has finished the castle wall ( that's what I call it) all the sand is in and Mica stones are being laid.. These pictures were before the all the sand was laid two days ago so it looks a little different now.. As always my Nickie guards us while we work just in case a bear or coyote wants to get to close. My flowers are dying back now but when they open their eyes next spring a new garden will be born... I will take more pictures later on as well.

Fairy Garden *~*~ progress to date

HI to all.
Well this is were we are at with the Fairy Garden.. This is a mix of photos from start to current. The faery's names are Titania to the right, Melina is the water feature in center, and Museica is to the left *~*~* she is playing a lovely tune to a small sparrow.. Titania and Museica are both solar lights. I have more small lights that change colors that will be placed later in the patio area when I am all done so I can light it up with fairy lights as well as the ground solar lights.. The stones are Rose Quartz and larger ones are Granite, the small stones around the rock scupture are also rose qartz to simulate a pond look I have put sea shells I have collected through the years around in that.. The natural stone patio will be made of Mica all the stones I've used are all memory keepers and also hold special power seperatly and together..There will be a agragate walk way to the front of my home ajoining another patio in front.. Then of course we plant grass on the slope.. Ok that it so far..

Wow its a hard job just explaining it!!! >----> :-)
